I'm just to creating a well, actually copying a program from the lab sheets for the PLC applications, traffic lights and I just want to highlight something interesting. So I've created a new rung, and I'm just going to build this up and comment where it's necessary. So we've got an equal block and that's comparing the value from the counter data file c5 and the accumulated value. And the source is three. So just comparing to number three. Now, you notice, these two a showing question marks all right our.
The other command here is the move. And these sources, the binary data file be three. So data file be three position, three, and I'm just going to put a description in there are 1 and g. Two are on when the code value equals 3.
And the destination is the output data file point zero enter. Now you see that these two are showing question marks. So when you click on the left-hand side and right, click and go verify, rung, you'll, see that now, all those question marks are gone. And in here, we've got the. Now, if I double-click on the binary digit here, this is the data file. You can see how I built it up and there's the associated comments. So initially I only had this one, but as I add each one to it, it actually adds more binary numbers under the data file be three. You can add more 16-bit words. And after I've verified that file actually creates that data file position. Now, I basically, go any and double-click on there. And I can write in the number that I want and.
I'll talk a little about that in a minute enter. So then if I look back on the data file, you'll, see that that's created now I want to just talk about this for a second. Okay. The relationship is that the zero.A bit on here on the starter file is the first output. The first bit is the next output this the second bit or the third, depending on how you count. It is this one here and that's how it works.
So you can write basically when you look at this move instruction think of it as a copy instruction. So it's, copying this digit here to this entire position here. So the data file output data file also has the same setup, 10, 12 23. But the reality is that the hardware is only set up for six bits 0 to 5 of. This first output array on to output would not the next one other works on the next one. These are only going to be virtual only where is the binary data file?
These are internal data files only. So you can have as many as you want. Well, there will be an upper limit as well. But for the purpose of exercise let's just say that way, so this is really cool.
And so you could, for example here in this traffic light application, you could have a bunch of individually assigned outputs. You could. You could have just want to do this as a comparison. Furthermore, you could actually have an output energized use one of these output energizes and actually have to because you've got a green light turned on here. And a red light turned on here. So you could have output energized for green. And in parallel up for this for lights, one and lights to green yellow and red, you could have output energized for the red to light.
